Kiewit Colorado

Kiewit is one of the largest employee-owned construction/engineering firms in the nation and is consistently ranked among the top 10 contractors by Engineering News Record. There are 30 district offices all over the country and in Canada and Australia, and several in Colorado. Three of the local districts have come together to brand themselves as Kiewit Colorado, Kiewit Infrastructure Group, Kiewit Building Group and Mass Electric Construction Company.

Kiewit Colorado is currently working together on Denver Union Station and Denver International Airport (DIA) Enabling Project and Replacement Medical Center Facility, Eastern Colorado Health Care System (new VA hospital) and the I-225 Rail Project. Over the years, Kiewit has worked on many memorable projects including the T-REX Project and the Palazzo Verdi Office tower in the Tech Center.

Diversity Council

Kiewit Colorado has a strong commitment to the small business community and has developed an internal Diversity Council to strengthen that commitment and coordinate efforts.

Capacity Building Workshops

The Council has developed a series of Capacity Building Workshops designed to share Kiewit's "business/operational" experience with small business so that they can grow and increase their capacity.

• Costs vs. Budget
• Job Start Up and Job Close Out (to be held Oct 4, 2012)

Small business support

Supporting and participating in the small business community for Kiewit Colorado includes membership in a variety of minority organizations including: Hispanic Contractors of Colorado, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, COMTO, Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce/Black Construction Group, and WTS.

We have also worked with many small firms on multiple projects over the years. One such firm is St. Andrews Construction Services Corp. St. Andrews has worked with Kiewit on the T-REX Project and Denver Union Station. Rusty Gonzales has also helped us with planning for our Capacity Building Workshops by participating on our Small Business Advisory Group.
