St. Andrews Construction Services
Plan for the future. That's the philosophy behind this month's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in 'The Spotlight'. Denver-based St. Andrews Construction Services offers a diverse scope of services, ranging from construction management, general construction, and telecom to traffic infrastructure and electrical specialty systems. Since 1996, the company has grown from $550,000 to $120 million in revenue, led by its talents and it focus on strategic planning.
Founded by Rusty Gonzales, St. Andrews has built a well deserved reputation as a skilled, reliable business partner. The company understands its strengths and collaborates with larger contractors, such as Diamond Electric, Kiewit, and Mass Electric, on projects where it can best demonstrate its specialized knowledge.
Rusty credits St. Andrews success to exceptional employees and the company's ability to plan for the future. "A comprehensive business plan is key, outlining short, interim, and long-term strategies. Also, it's essential to look and act professionally in everything you do." But it wasn't always that way. Rusty recalls the early days when St. Andrews experienced tremendous, almost overnight growth, which opened his eyes. "Always be cognizant of the growth your business can handle. Have the infrastructure in place to handle the current flow of work and to sustain it. We've made our name on always being able to deliver on our promises."
The company's emphasis on expertise, commitment, and long-term partnerships is just one of the reasons St. Andrews was selected as the primary DBE/SBE electrical subcontractor on RTD's Denver Union Station Project. St. Andrews has previously worked on large-scale projects such as Invesco (now Sports Authority) Field, Pepsi Center, and T-Rex.
RTD is proud to highlight St. Andrews Electric for the 'The Spotlight'. We recognize Rusty Gonzales' vision and leadership in leading St. Andrews Electric to be named one of Colorado's Top Minority-Owned Businesses by Colorado Biz Magazine and in becoming a significant voice in the Hispanic business community.
