Active duty members of the U.S. military currently ride for free on all RTD services. Children five years of age or younger ride free (limit of three children for each fare-paying adult).

*Discount Fares apply to all seniors 65+, individuals with disabilities, Medicare recipients and students in elementary, middle and high school, ages 6-19. Proof of eligibility is required when boarding. For seniors or individuals with disabilities, a Special Discount Card may be obtained by calling 303.299.2667.

It’s only fair to pay your fare
Fare inspections by police officers, RTD fare inspectors and security officers can take place anytime—even at light rail station or bus stops. To avoid being fined, all passengers must be able to produce proof of correct, valid fare payment while riding any RTD vehicle. Fare evasion is a criminal offense that can result in a hefty fine and a permanent criminal record.

Violators are issued a warning at the first offense and will receive a citation for violating state law thereafter. Pre-paying the citation or being found guilty in court will become a permanent criminal record for theft of public transportation services.
