HOW TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE MRO DEPARTMENT AT RTD

The MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) Department at RTD purchases a variety of products and services relating to bus, automobile and building maintenance and repair. Attached is a copy of the MRO Major Code List to help you determine if the products and/or services offered by your business are currently being utilized. If you have any questions concerning the MRO Major Code List, please call John Dawson at 303-299-6377. Guidelines to help you work effectively with our MRO Department are listed below:

Get on our Bidder's / Proposer's Mailing List.

Before you can do business with the RTD MRO Department, your company must be on the Bidder's / Proposer's Mailing list. If your business is not currently on this list, apply online at the "How To Do Business With RTD" menu option.

Come in and meet with our buyers.

Vendor hours are on Wednesday & Friday between 8:00am to 10:00am. No appointment needed. If you cannot come in at this time, please call and schedule an appointment with the buyer.

Bring in line cards for buyers and discuss what your company can offer.

For your reference the MRO Major Code List is provided at the end of this page.

Our buyers deal with these types of orders:

Inventory: Bus parts, support vehicle and facility maintenance parts that are stocked on the shelf.

If you can supply items that RTD needs, we can add your company to part numbers supplied by vendors dealing with the same type of items. You will then start to receive faxed quotes when items are needed.

On inventory items, we rate our vendors. You start with a 100%. Past due deliveries, due date extensions, damaged items, wrong items delivered, under- shipments, over-shipments and quality control problems will cause this rating to drop accordingly. We will not deal with vendors who have a 65% or below rating unless they are the only suppliers of that item.

At the present time, the vendor rating is not used on Bypass orders.

We also reward our good vendors by paying 1% more for a 2% better rating.

Bypass/Service/Repair: Items that are not stocked on the shelf or one time buys. The Bidders List is used to obtain suppliers for these types of orders. If you have not already filled out the form ask the buyer for one.

Payment for Products and Services:

Blanket Purchase Order (BPO): A type of charge account set up between vendor and RTD to fill anticipated repetitive needs for small quantities of supplies or services for a specified period of time.

Visa Procurement Card: RTD buys many items using this method of purchase.

I invite you to contact the appropriate buyers listed below for additional information on how you can do business with our MRO Department.
