University of Denver Light Rail Parking Instructions

At the University of Denver Light Rail Station there are two rules that govern use of parking spaces:

Rule 1:  Upon exiting the facility, users will be required to demonstrate that they have made use of public transportation services while their vehicle has been parked in this parking structure.

Rule 2:  No overnight parking is allowed. This parking structure is closed between the hours of 3:00 am and 4:00 am every day.

How to use this facility

Entering the facility:

  • Enter the facility by proceeding up the ramp to the entrance gate. As you approach you will see an illuminated fullsign if there are no spaces left. If full, the gate will not open.
  • If there is space available in the garage, the parking ticket dispenser will issue a date-time stamped ticket and will activate the gate to allow entry.
  • Keep your ticket on you as you will need it later.
  • Proceed to the LRT platform to board a train or to the bus loading area.
  • If the gate does not open, the garage is full, please turn around on the ramp and exit to the street. Please seek parking at an alternate RTD station.

Validating Transit Use:

  • Keep your ticket on you as you board the bus or light rail.
  • If you are a light rail patron:
    • You must validate your ticket at any light rail station other than University of Denver Station UDS before boarding the light rail to return to UDS.
    • Insert your ticket in to the validator at any LRT Station other than UDS as instructed, it will be automatically date-time and station-code stamped.
    • Keep your ticket on you for later use.
  • If you are a bus patron:
    • If you are riding a bus route that serves UDS, obtain a valid bus transfer on your return trip to UDS. You must present this bus transfer when you exit the parking facility.
