RTD Developer Resources

We’re looking for new mobile apps, widgets, and tools!
Want to help RTD riders get transit info on the go? We welcome and encourage third-party developers with first-class ideas for cool apps, widgets and other tools that make riding RTD even easier!

We are committed to supporting the development community in whatever way we can. We supply static schedule data in the General Transit Feed Specification as well as GIS files in ESRI shapefile formats. Both of these formats are available to use for developing your creation. You can read more about the specifics below.

Once you’re done, be sure to drop us a line at webmaster@rtd-denver.com. We review all submissions and the best ones may get posted on our mobile tools page.

General Transit Feed Specification
RTD schedule data is available in General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) for use in developing applications and other mobile tools for RTD riders. If you plan on using our GTFS data, please follow these rules:

1. Keep your data up-to-date. Major changes to RTD schedules typically happen three times a year in January, May and August. Visit service changes to get more information.
2. Do not use the RTD logo, RTD maps or any other RTD content found on the RTD website without permission in advance from RTD. To request permission, please email webmaster@RTD-Denver.com.

You must read and agree to the License Agreement before you download the data. Download RTD schedule data in GTFS format at RTD-Denver.com/GoogleFeeder. Learn more about General Transit Feed Specification.

GIS Data
RTD GIS data is also available for download. Developers must accept an agreement before downloading our GIS data.

Available layers include: RTD boundary, director districts, bus routes, bus stops, light rail lines, light rail stations, Park-n-Ride locations/attributes and Call-n-Ride boundaries.
