Employer Transit Vouchers

Transit vouchers allow your company to subsidize all or a portion of your employees' monthly RTD passes and 10-Ride Ticketbooks.

Why offer transit vouchers?
Transit vouchers are a smart employee benefit because they encourage transit use. Given as either a supplemental benefit or pre-tax salary deduction, up to $230 a month ($2,760 a year) can be provided tax-free to each employee.

Employees get a no-cost or low-cost commute to work and avoid the stress and expense of driving alone. Employers who offer transit vouchers have the advantage of recruiting and retaining employees who use (or would consider using) public transit. Studies show that employees who use transit arrive at work more relaxed and ready to get down to business. They also tend to have fewer transportation issues. Plus, fewer cars in your lot leaves more parking places available for your customers.

How do they work?
Choose from four companies to purchase your transit vouchers: Commuter Check, TranBen, Transit Center or WageWorks. All sell similar products but in different denominations and formats. Contact the vendor of your choice.

When your transit vouchers arrive in about two weeks, employees can take them to King Soopers, Safeway or RTD sales outlets, where they can redeem them toward the purchase of a monthly pass or a 10-Ride Ticketbook. For use of transit vouchers for VanPools, check with your VanPool provider.
