This program enables employees who use any form of alternative transportation in their commute to work, be it bus, Light Rail, bicycle or walking, to a free taxi-ride home in the event of an emergency or an unexpected event! If the employee becomes sick, needs to attend to a family member or must work late unexpectedly – they have a ride home!

  • Included with Eco Pass
  • Emergency taxi-ride service
  • Employees contact company transportation coordinator for approval
  • 100 mile maximum trip
  • 10% tip to the driver is included!

How to use the Guaranteed Ride Home Service?

After enrolling in the Eco Pass Program, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) will send information to your company on how to use the program and your account number for the taxi service. The procedure to use the Guaranteed Ride Home program is simple:

  • The employee must contact the company’s transportation coordinator for approval.

  • If the request is appropriate, the coordinator will call the designated cab company and give the operator the name of the employee, place of employment, pick-up time, destination and account number. It is advisable to call ahead of time to schedule a pick-up at a designated time.

  • Once the employer’s participation in the program has been verified, a taxi will be dispatched.

  • After the taxi arrives, the employee will be asked to show their Eco Pass with a current RTD decal to the driver or a valid ID i.e. Drivers License.

  • At the end of the taxi ride the employee will be asked by the driver to sign a Ride voucher.

  • There is no charge to the employee, we even tip 10%. All charges are billed to DRCOG by the taxi service.
