Beat the Crowds with HOV Lanes

Did you know that riding the bus gives you a very special privilege on certain roadways in the Denver area? Some of our major highways and roads have high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, which are reserved for buses, carpools and vanpools during rush hours. This means your bus can travel more quickly and avoid the traffic jams that frequently occur in regular traffic lanes.

These HOV lanes run 6.6 milesdown the middle of I-25 from 70th Avenue into Downtown Denver, allowing commuters to travel quickly between the north metro area and downtown. The lanes are reversible, with vehicles moving with rush hour traffic southbound in the morning and northbound in the evening.

The Downtown Express can save commuters up to 10 minutes each way under normal traffic conditions, and even more when I-25 is backed up due to bad weather, accidents or construction.
