Bus Services for Disabled Riders

RTD was one of the first transit agencies in the country to provide service specifically designed for persons with disabilities. Our goal is to provide 100 percent-accessible service to all disabled individuals, and we expect to reach that goal in the near future.

Passengers with disabilities may be eligible for a Special Discount Card, which allows disabled passengers to ride at a discounted rate. Please click here RTD Cash Fares for information on fares for persons with disabilities. For information please call 303-299-2667.

Personal attendants or aides (including trainers) ride free.

Accessible Bus Fleet

access-a-RideCurrently about 99% of all buses are accessible with wheelchair lifts. Look at the front of your printed bus schedule for the wheelchair symbol to determine if the route has buses that are lift-equipped.

access-a-Ride
access-a-Ride is a curb-to-curb transportation system for disabled individuals who:

  • are unable to ride, board or exit from a regular bus,
  • require a lift-equipped bus when none are available on that particular route, and
  • have specific impairment-related conditions that make it impossible to travel to and from a bus stop.

The access-a-Ride service operates daily, providing transportation to ADA-eligible persons who have origin and destination points within three-fourths mile of any regular non-commuter bus route, and who with to travel during the same times the route operates.

Traveling by bus at night? Night Stop
