How to Ride skyRide

Whether you're traveling from your home, office or DIA, catching skyRide is a snap. Just follow these easy steps:

STEP 1: Locate your flight time.
Determine the time you need to arrive at DIA to make it to your flight comfortably.

STEP 2: Find departure or destination point.

Locate the stop nearest to your desired departure or destination point on the skyRide map. Look for the color coded route name. Confirm your choice by matching the stop on the skyRide route map with the address on the table below the map.

Find a skyRide route schedule to get your exact arrival or departure time. You can locate the skyRide schedules online or call 303-299-6000. skyRide schedules and fares are posted at every skyRide park-n-Ride near the bus stop.

STEP 3: Figure out fare.

Determine the exact cash fare to reach your destination point on the skyRide route map.

Have exact change or buy a round-trip ticket. You must have exact change if you pay with cash when you board the skyRide bus. Or, you may purchase a skyRide round-trip ticket in advance. Round-trip tickets are available at RTD sales outlets and our online store.

STEP 4: Have exact change or buy a round-trip ticket
.
You must have exact change if you pay with cash when you board the skyRide bus. Or, you may purchase a skyRide round-trip ticket in advance. Round-trip tickets are available at RTD sales outlets and our Online Store.

STEP 5: The driver will load your luggage.
When your skyRide bus arrives, check the route displayed on the front. The driver will help load your luggage and then you can board the bus. Insert your cash fare or ticket into the fare box or show the driver your pass. If you are making a connection or plan to use a transfer, see information below:

Transferring From Another Bus
When transferring from another bus to skyRide, ask the driver of the regular RTD bus for a transfer when you board. This transfer will serve as a credit toward your skyRide fare. Present the transfer to the skyRide bus driver when boarding skyRide. Additional fare payment will be required along with the transfer, so be sure to have exact change since drivers do not carry cash.

Transferring From Light Rail
When transferring from light rail to skyRide, your light rail ticket may be used as a credit toward the skyRide fare. Present the light rail ticket and the additional payment needed to the skyRide bus driver. Be sure to have exact change since drivers do not carry cash. At light rail stations, you may use the ticket vending machines to purchase a one-way skyRide ticket. The skyRide ticket is valid for both your light rail and skyRide fares.

Step 6: Arrive at DIA.
skyRide drop-off points are located outside on Level 5 of the west and east terminals (see map below for details). Most airlines recommend you arrive at least two hours prior to departure time. Ticket counters are located on Level 6. Be aware of whether your airline is located on the east or west side of DIA.

Step 7: Getting back home on skyRide.

Once you've arrived back at DIA after your trip, you will find skyRide buses available to take you home on Level 5, Island 5. If you are in the west terminal, exit Doors 506 or 510. If you are in the east terminal, exit Doors 507 or 511. Identify the bus with the route name and destination and board that bus. You can check departure times for each route at Island 5 in the shelter at either the east or west side.
