The #1 light rail
safety rule is: Don't trespass on light rail tracks in areas where
you are not supposed to be. Cross only at designated crossings.
-
Never walk or
drive across the tracks when you see a moving train or a red
traffic signal.
Always look both
ways before crossing light rail tracks.
-
At the station,
stand behind the yellow warning strip until the train stops.
-
Do not walk or
bike along the tracks, day or night.
-
Stay away from
the electric wires and couplers between the cars. They are dangerous.
-
In case of an
emergency on the train, locate the intercom on the operator's cab
door at the front and back of each car. By pressing the button,
you can talk
to the operator to get assistance. Each train has a two-way radio
to contact authorities.
-
Practice common
sense and common courtesy at light rail stations and on trains,
especially when crowds are boarding and exiting.
