What is an MIS?

A Major Investment Studies, or MIS, is a process to identify transportation problems and needs in a major transportation and evaluate potential alternative solutions to overcoming those problems or meeting those needs. The MIS uses public input to identify the problems, needs, and potential solutions. The term 'public' includes citizens, governments, organizations, agencies, and any others who may be impacted by the implementation of a major capital project designed to mitigate mobility problems and meet mobility needs in the corridor.
