Request for Letters of Interest for Design/Build Services The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Regional Transportation District (RTD) are jointly soliciting Letters of Interest from companies interested in providing design/build services for the Southeast Corridor Multi-Modal project in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. The primary purpose
of this project is to improve 17 miles of two interstate highways plus
add 19 miles of new double track Light Rail Transit (LRT), including 13
new stations. The LRT line will connect to the Central Corridor LRT line
providing service to downtown Denver, and to the Southwest Corridor LRT
line providing service to Englewood and Littleton. Planned highway improvements
include one additional lane in each direction on I-25 and I-225 (between
Parker Road and DTC Boulevard) and a second lane added in each direction
on I-25 between I-225 and C-470/E-470. |
|
One design/build team will be selected for the entire project. All elements of the project will be part of the single design/build contract with the exception of the LRT vehicle procurement, LRT maintenance facility, fare collection system and any modifications/upgrades to the existing Central Corridor LRT system. The selection process will evaluate the ability of the design/build team to meet the following project goals: 1) minimize inconvenience to the community, motorists, and public; 2) meet or beat the total program budget; 3) provide for a quality project; and 4) meet or beat the schedule of June 30, 2008 (fully operational). An informational meeting
is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, 2000; with release of
the Request for Qualifications anticipated in late-April. |
