General Information
The Southwest
Corridor light rail line is a double-track system running from the existing
I-25 and Broadway Station to Mineral and South Santa Fe. It will necessitate
the relocation of existing railroad lines,
and includes construction of 5 stations and 4 park-n-Rides.
The overall
Southwest Corridor LRT project was 85% complete through the end of January
1999. Opening day is currently scheduled for July 14, 2000.
The Southwest
Corridor LRT civil construction is split up into four sections which are
referred to as "line segments." Following the completion of construction
for the four line segments and relocation of the railroads, the RTD contractor
starts layin g light rail tracks. Light rail track installation will be
followed by construction of the electrified overhead contact system and
train signals.

station platform flatwork, retaining walls and underground components
for the Oxford, Hampden and Evans stations.

The work for Mariposa yard includes dem olition of concrete track
apron, subgrade preperation for 4 storage tracks, construction of
