William Elfenbein was elected on November 7, 2000 and took office on January 1, 2001 to represent District A, which lies in Denver and part of Arapahoe County. In January 2004, William was elected Chairman of the Regional Transportation District Board of Directors.

Director Elfenbein received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in 1959, and is currently the president of Egypt Bench Group, a business consulting firm.

Director Elfenbein is Chairman of Transportation Solutions and serves on the Transportation Committee of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. He also is an active member of Mile High Rotary club and serves as a member of the Aging Committee of the Rose Foundation.

Director Elfenbein was born in New London, Connecticut and served with the Army Transportation Corp for two years. He and his wife Sharon have been in Denver since 1967.
