A native of Long Island, New York, Noel Busck has been a Thornton resident
since 1965, though his history in the Denver area goes back to 1959 when
he was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base.
Director Busck worked his way up through Public Service Company, starting
as a laborer in 1964 and retiring from the company in 1995 after becoming
Superintendent of Gas Operations. He worked for three years from 1996-1999
as an Assistant to the VP of Operations for Union Power Company, primarily
overseeing their gas operations. Director Busck retired from the Union
Power Company after being elected Mayor of Thornton in November 1999.
Director Busck enjoys politics, and served for ten years on the Thornton City
Council from 1984 until 1994, when Public Service Company sent him to Pueblo,
CO. He has served on a variety of Thornton Boards and Commissions, including
the Planning Commission from 1970-1979 and 1981-1983, the 1995 Comprehensive
Master Plan Committee, the Charter Review Committee, and as Chairman of the Parks
and Open Space Commission since early 1998.
Director Busck is married to Susan and they have three grown daughters
and five grandchildren.
