| Project Description |
 |
|
The West Corridor is a 12.1-mile light rail transit project which will
operate along the former Associated Railroad right-of-way (near 12th
and 13th Avenues) from Downtown Denver to the Lakewood Industrial Park,
and continue west to the Jefferson County Government Center in Golden.
The West Corridor provides enhanced connections between Downtown Denver
and key activity centers such as Invesco Field at Mile High, the Federal
Center, and the Lakewood City Commons/Lakewood Civic Center in Jefferson
County. The West Corridor also provides a new, high capacity multimodal
transportation corridor as an alternative to 6th Avenue which is projected
to experience more than a 20 percent increase in traffic by 2025.
