Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with RTD
Starting Sept. 15, RTD recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month, a monthlong celebration of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched the nation and society.
There are a variety of events that highlight the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic communities happening across the city. The Denver Public Library will be hosting workshops ranging from crafting Mayan kites and mandalas to cooking up traditional dishes like alfajores de maizena and pellizcadas. Visit its website to see the full list of events.
Most notably, this year’s Latino Community Service Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Denver Public Library, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. This ceremony honors individuals who have made contributions to the Latino community. RTD will highlight these individuals and award recipients on social media through the Colorado Proud series.
