Normal Certification and Recertification Procedures Resume

In late January, our application for Access-a-Ride services went online so that customers could download and print it at home. This move has improved access to the service and sped up the eligibility process for new customers. In addition, those needing to recertify their services may download the same form. Following the governor’s stay-at-home orders, we had to make several adjustments:

  • We were no longer able to complete assessments in person
  • All customers who had scheduled appointments were provided with temporary presumptive eligibility
  • Anyone who has mailed an application has also received temporary presumptive eligibility

Assessments resumed at Easter Seals on May 11, with schedules and waiting areas modified to improve social distancing.

Customers should check the date on their Access-a-Ride ID card so that they do not miss the important deadline for recertification. We have not been able to send reminder cards during this time. Interactive Voice Response (IVR) messages were recently sent to those customers who had upcoming expiration dates.
