Public meetings and outreach events begin next month for RTD’s May service change

Public meetings and outreach events for the Regional Transportation District (RTD)’s May service change will take place across RTD’s service district in February and March, providing the community with close to three dozen in-person opportunities to learn more about and weigh in on modifications to the agency’s bus, rail and special services.

The majority of changes that have been proposed for May are part of a service reduction plan to address RTD’s ongoing bus and rail operator shortage. These modifications will help the agency better align its service with its current level of staffing, bringing relief to employees and providing riders with more reliable service.

The public can provide input about the proposed May service change now through March 5. Multiple avenues are available: by attending any of 18 public meetings, from Feb. 19 through March 5; by emailing [email protected]; or by faxing comments to 303-299-2227. In addition, RTD staff will be at 15 stations in February to provide information about the public meetings.

RTD’s Board of Directors will consider all public comments about the May service change before taking action on it in March. Modifications take effect on May 17.
