RTD begins extended improvements project today to E, H and R lines south of Broadway to Lone Tree
Today, RTD will begin an extended project to perform maintenance and repairs to the caps on top of the retaining walls, called coping panels, that run along the Southeast Rail Line south of Broadway to Lincoln Station next to I-25.
The project will ensure continued safe and efficient operation at various locations along the E, H and R lines between I-25•Broadway Station in Denver and Lincoln Station in Lone Tree. The maintenance work will result in periodic schedule adjustments lasting into October.
The work is expected to significantly and periodically affect rail service on the E, H, and R lines through fall of this year. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead by visiting RTD’s service disruptions webpage to view adapted rail schedules and for tools to help with trip planning. The improvements to the coping panels will be done in nine segments. Crews will begin at Lincoln Station and proceed north. Similar work will happen again for the south side of the rail alignment in 2024.
Beginning April 3:
- E Line trains will operate southbound from Union Station every 15 minutes, with final destinations alternating between Southmoor Station and RidgeGate Parkway Station. Northbound trips will depart from Southmoor Station every 15 minutes and from RidgeGate Parkway Station every 30 minutes
- H Line service disruptions will begin late spring
- R Line service is suspended between Lincoln and Florida stations, with regular service continuing between Peoria and Florida stations
