RTD L Line track replacement work begins this weekend

L Line Disruption

L Line service will be suspended Sept. 11-21 to replace aging rail at 20th•Welton Station

Starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Regional Transportation District (RTD) crews will repair and replace one of the oldest sections of track on the RTD light rail system, at 20th•Welton Station. While work is underway, the L Line will not operate through Tuesday, Sept. 21. Service will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

20th•Welton Station will be closed during this period, and construction work will impede access along both 20th and Welton streets. L Line customers are encouraged to explore Bus Route 43 as an alternative for service in the affected area.

Masks are required while waiting for and riding on all RTD vehicles per the federal mask mandate for public transportation, which has been extended through Jan. 18.
