In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, the RTD team participated in Commerce City’s 57th annual parade. Marching down 64th Avenue in front of the agency’s parade bus were members of RTD’s Board Office, Bus Operations, Civil Rights and Communications teams. A member of RTD’s Transit Police also joined the parade, following behind the parade bus in a police vehicle with flashing lights and siren bleeps.

In addition to being the largest parade of its kind in Colorado, the Memorial Day Parade is one of the city of Commerce City’s longest running events, that attracts thousands of Coloradans. The parade recognizes and remembers service members who gave their lives defending our country .

RTD’s parade bus, which debuted during Denver’s 2023 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, is wrapped in a decal that depicts the diversity of the communities that RTD serves. When not rolling through parades, the bus can be spotted picking up and dropping off customers throughout the metro area.

Check out RTD’s Community Calendar to see where the parade bus and RTD’s Community Engagement Team will be next.
