RTD will provide bus shuttle service beginning Friday as the agency performs network repairs on the R Line between 13th Avenue and Peoria stations.

The temporary bus shuttle service will allow RTD the opportunity to make repairs, improve response time for emergency services through the crossings, and address limited staffing issues during the repairs.

RTD has been working since early June to address issues that have affected several R Line crossings in Aurora. The agency has deployed available staffing to troubleshoot issues and protect the affected crossings.

A maintenance project to repair coping panels along I-25 was temporarily paused while crews were reassigned to correct the network communications issues. That project is expected to resume on Tuesday, June 20.

R Line bus shuttle service will run approximately every 30 minutes between affected stations. RTD will continue to provide R Line light rail service south of 13th Avenue station.  

Customers can board shuttles at the following locations:

• 13th Avenue Station: Next to the train platform
• Colfax Station: The bus stop beneath the I-225 bridge
• Fitzsimons Station: On Fitzsimons Parkway adjacent to the railway station
• Peoria Station: Gate E (this gate will also serve A Line bus shuttles June 17-18)

Light rail service on the R Line will resume between 13th Avenue and Peoria stations following completion of the repairs.

RTD encourages customers to sign up for Service Alerts to get specific information on impacts to routes and stations. Customers may also use RTD’s Trip Planner and Next Ride web apps to plan a trip and see bus and train locations in real time.
