RTD to support Independence Day events this weekend with additional capacity on light rail service to downtown

To accommodate several Independence Day events this weekend, RTD will add extra train cars to D, E, H and W light rail lines from Friday through Sunday. RTD bus and rail services will operate on regular schedules, and customers are encouraged to plan their trips ahead of time.

Events occurring downtown this weekend include:

  • Fireworks displays at Coors Field following Friday and Saturday Rockies baseball games (games start at 6:10 p.m. Friday and 7:10 p.m. Saturday)
  • Sunday, July 3 at Civic Center Park (gates open at 4 p.m.; fireworks start 9:15-9:30 p.m.)
  • FAN EXPO Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, Friday-Sunday
  • Chris Stapleton concerts at Ball Arena, 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Final train times from Union Station and Downtown Denver stations include:

  • Friday, July 1
    • D Line – 11:21 p.m.  
    • E Line – 1:54 a.m.
    • H Line – 10:57 p.m.
    • W Line – 1:58 a.m.
  • Saturday, July 2
    • D Line – 11:21 p.m.
    • E Line – 1:48 a.m.
    • H Line – 10:57 p.m.

W Line – 1:58 a.m.

  • Sunday-Thursday, July 3-7
    • D Line – 11:21 p.m.
    • E Line – 10:18 p.m.
    • H Line – 10:57 p.m.
    • W Line – 10:58 p.m.

  • Download the RTD Mobile Tickets App to purchase tickets and passes. Customers can also purchase RTD tickets in the Uber, Lyft and Transit apps
  • Use RTD’s Trip Planner and Next Ride apps to plan and navigate trips in real time
