RTD’s 16th Street Free MallRide will not run during Veterans Day Parade and Festival on Saturday

RTD's free shuttle service along the 16th Street Mall will not operate during the 2021 Veterans Day Parade and Festival on Saturday, Nov. 6. The event, hosted by the Colorado Veterans Project, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. A “stationary parade” featuring veteran participants and era-specific vehicle displays will take place along the 16th Street Mall.

Admission is free to the event, which also offers a music stage, family-friendly activities, military displays, vendors and a variety of local restaurants.

The 16th Street Mall will be closed to all automotive traffic. The Free MetroRide will operate on 15th and 17th streets between Market Street and Civic Center Station, as well as on 16th Street between Union Station and Market Street.

Because alternate mall shuttle service will be running on streets with general traffic, Free MetroRide buses will be used instead of the regular MallRide shuttles to help with passenger safety and rider capacity. Passengers who normally travel on the 16th Street Mall will be able to catch the green Free MetroRide buses at all bus stops on 15th Street (toward Union Station) and 17th Street (toward Civic Center Station).

Per federal mandate, a mask is required while riding on or waiting for RTD vehicles, including while outside on agency property.

Check the RTD website before you travel for schedules and to plan your trip.
