Segment of RTD W Line service temporarily disrupted due to train derailment
RTD's W Line service is being supplemented by shuttle buses between Red Rocks College and Jefferson County Government Center•Golden stations due to a train derailment.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. today, the first car of a light rail train derailed at the Jefferson County Station. There were four customers and an operator on board the train at the time of the incident. Two of the customers reported minor injuries to first responders and were transported to the hospital.
A bus shuttle is currently in place while crews work to safely re-rail the train. Investigators are also on the scene to determine the cause of the derailment.
Shuttle buses are replacing W Line service at Red Rocks College and Jefferson County Government Center•Golden stations. W Line trains are operating as scheduled between Red Rocks College and Denver Union stations. Rail service to the area will be restored as soon as repairs are completed, and Jefferson County Government Center•Golden Station will remain closed to the public until further notice.
