The hunt for gold: RTD wishes the Denver Nuggets the best of luck in the NBA playoffs

Six months ago, the Denver Nuggets stepped on the hardwood for the first time this season with one mission – to bring the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship trophy back to the Mile High City. Using the pain of getting swept by the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 Western Conference Semifinal as motivation, the Nuggets endured a grueling 82-game schedule from October 2021 to April 2022, spilling blood, sweat and tears to a 48-34 record, earning the Western Conference sixth seed spot in the 2022 NBA playoffs.

Only four games stand in the way between the Denver Nuggets and eternal glory. It won’t come easy, as the Nuggets head to San Francisco to battle a red-hot Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and the third-seed Golden State Warriors for the first two games of the best-of-seven game series. They then fly back to the Mile High and defend home court at 8 p.m. Thursday at Ball Arena for Game 3. The last time the two franchises faced off in the playoffs, Golden State won in six games. The Nuggets are going to do everything they can to prevent that from happening again.

After a brutal end to a promising 2020-2021 campaign, the Denver Nuggets look to strike gold and earn redemption in 2022. With a loaded squad featuring one of the most dominant centers in the league and four-time all-star Nikola “The Joker” Jokic, the sharpshooter Jamal Murray, four-time all-star and Olympic gold medalist Demarcus “Boogie” Cousins, and one of the most prolific dunkers in the NBA in Aaron Gordon, the Nuggets are ready for whatever the rest of the NBA throws at them.

RTD wishes the Denver Nuggets the best of luck in the NBA playoffs and looks forward to seeing Coach Michael Malone cut down the nets in June. Taking RTD to the game at Ball Arena next Thursday?
