April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and RTD is joining forces with the National Safety Council (NSC) to raise awareness of the risks associated with distracted driving and the many ways to prevent it. The agency aims to highlight the potentially devastating consequences of distracted driving and encourages individuals to adopt safer driving habits.
Throughout April, Bus Operations leadership is collaborating with departments across RTD to host a series of educational events encouraging employees to drive safe at all times. The Distracted Driving Awareness Month initiative supports the agency’s strategic tactic of creating a welcoming transit environment, as well as the values of passion and trustworthiness.
Join staff to learn about what can lead to distracted driving and ways to prevent it from happening. Take the #JustDrive pledge to drive distraction-free at nsc.org/Pledge.
Bus Transportation will host a series of events at bus operating divisions this month where employees can engage in fun activities designed to increase awareness of distracted driving, as well as sign a pledge to drive distraction-free.
