RTD prepared to support fans attending the Rockies’ home opener

RTD is prepared to support fans attending the Rockies’ first home game of the season tomorrow. Coors Field’s close proximity to Denver Union Station and a number of bus stops in the immediate area make public transit a safe and ideal way to attend the game.

Fans are encouraged to download RTD’s Next Ride smartphone application or use the online trip planning tool and simply type “Rockies” in the destination field. RTD’s trip planner will show all transit options in real time to access Coors Field. The navigation feature lists all available train and bus routes from the user’s current location to reach the game. The trip planner tool is available in multiple languages and also shows bus occupancy levels, the total cost to the game, and fare payment options, as well as other information. Customers are also invited to call 303.299.6000 to speak with an RTD agent and receive help with routing information.

In anticipation of the increase in ridership for the first home game of the season, RTD is adding train cars to support more customers. The agency will also deploy staff in the downtown area before and after tomorrow’s baseball game to answer questions and provide directions to fans. RTD staff will be wearing bright orange vests.
