CORA FAQs

CORA requests do not process inquiries or requests related to fare or parking fee refunds, lost items, or service complaints. For these types of requests, please contact RTD Customer Care.

How long will it take to receive a response?

RTD will make every effort to respond to your request within three business days, as required by section 24‐72‐203(3)(b), C.R.S. If it is determined that it will take longer than three days to provide records responsive to your request, RTD will request an extension under section 24-72-203, C.R.S., which allows an additional seven business days to respond.

RTD applies the following guidelines when calculating response due times.

  • If a request is received after 5:00 p.m., it is considered received the next business day.
  • In calculating the time to respond, the day the request is received is not counted.
  • For requests that require payment of a fee, the timeframe for completion of the request is put on hold until payment is received.

Is there a fee?

There is no fee to submit an open records request.

As allowed under section 24-72-205(6), C.R.S., RTD charges a fee of $30 per hour after the first hour (the first hour is free) for staff time required to search, retrieve, and review the responsive records.

RTD will provide a cost estimate when more than one hour is needed to collect responsive records.

The requestor must approve the cost estimate and pay the invoice in full before RTD will begin work on fulfilling the records request and produce the records.

Payment can be made by credit card through the request or by check made out to Regional Transportation District and mailed to the following address. Please reference your request number on the check and/or include a copy of the invoice.
