Aurora grant program boosts neighborhoods near transit

The City of Aurora is launching its 2026 Neighborhood Improvement Grant Program which offers up to $5,000 for small-scale, community-driven projects that make neighborhoods near transit cleaner, more welcoming, and more connected.

The grant program is open to residents, businesses, and nonprofits that focus their projects within Aurora city limits. They projects should aim to deliver a clear neighborhood benefit, follow a defined timeline, and involve at least two households. Eligible concepts range from community cleanups and gardens, to benches, message boards, and other shared amenities that encourage positive community-gathering experiences.

Before applying, residents must schedule a meeting with a city community engagement coordinator by March 20 to discuss their project and any required permits. Meetings can be requested by emailing [email protected]. Applications are available now, with a deadline of Friday, April 17. All funded projects must be completed by Oct. 31.

Details, eligibility requirements, and application information are available at AuroraGov.org/NeighborhoodGrants. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
