RTD bus routes to detour during Denver Pride 5k, parade

Several routes impacted, use Next Ride app for real-time updates and best options to avoid delays

To accommodate the 2025 Denver Pride 5K and Denver Vizzy Pride Parade in downtown Denver, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) will implement temporary detours and boarding location changes on several bus routes Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, June 28,the Denver Pride 5Kis scheduled to take place 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on 14th Avenue between Lincoln Street and Cheesman Park. Cheesman Park will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event. RTD customers can access Routes 10 and 12 west of Corona Street or east of York Street.

On Sunday, June 29, the Pride parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Cheesman Park. The parade route, relocated due to construction on East Colfax Avenue,will proceed north on Franklin Street,head west on 17thAvenue and conclude at Lincoln Street. Road closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to approximately noon.Customers should expect delays, detours and temporary stop closures in the downtown and Capitol Hill areas.

Impacts to bus routes on Sunday include:

  • Routes 0, 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 15L, 16, 19, 44, 48, 52
  • 83L(Civic Center is closed. Board the eastbound 83L on Broadway at 13th Ave.) 
  • 16th Street FreeRide shuttle (Board the FreeRide on Cleveland & 16th Street.)
