RTD bus routes to experience minor detours January 19 during Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Marade

DENVER (Jan. 16, 2025) –– Some Regional Transportation District (RTD) bus routes will experience minor detours on Monday, Jan. 19, due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. march and parade from City Park to the Colorado State Capitol.

Known as a “Marade” by organizers, the event celebrates its 42nd anniversary this year and commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

RTD services will operate on a regular schedule; however, customers using affected routes should expect delays and detours between 10:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., which may also impact scheduled bus and rail connections.

Bus routes:

The following bus routes will have a minor detour around the event: 6, 12, 15, 15L, 16, 20, and 24.

RTD customers should plan ahead, stay informed, and prepare to be outside by dressing appropriately for the weather.
