RTD launches new pricing feature on Next Ride
DENVER (March 7, 2024) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD) launched a simpler way to purchase fares. Starting today, customers will see the fare price when they use the Trip Planner on Next Ride. Customers can then click Buy a Ticket and complete their fare purchase in the MyRide app. Customers who use the Trip Planner feature on the Next Ride web application but do not yet have the MyRide app installed on their mobile device will be automatically directed to the app store to download it and complete their fare purchase.
The agency is excited to offer the new functionality and digital tools to make purchasing fares and riding RTD easier. Customer feedback and the agency’s strategic initiative to provide a welcoming transit environment underpinned making the purchase process simpler. The new pricing feature is available on desktop and mobile devices. In addition to the convenience of being able to make a fare purchase, customers who use the digital tools can plan trips in advance and see bus locations and occupancy in real time.
Customers using Next Ride and the MyRide app will also see RTD’s reduced fares, which were launched systemwide this past January. Standard fares for a Three Hour Pass are $2.75 and an Airport Day Pass is $10 for trips to or from the Denver International Airport. Customers who are eligible for discount fares can still purchase them in MyRide. Discount fares apply to seniors 65 and older, individuals with disabilities, Medicare recipients, and customers enrolled in LiVE. Full details are on the RTD website.
RTD plans more digital updates to improve access for all customers to reach the places they live, work and play without language being a barrier to transit. Vietnamese will be available on Next Ride starting March 14 and Russian in May. The RTD website is currently available in English, Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese and the agency will add Russian as a language option in April. Adding languages to the RTD website and Next Ride app are part of RTD’s mission to make lives better through connections.
