RTD service changes take effect June 7 adding rail connections and increasing frequencies

The agency is reinstating the C Line, adding the temporary T Line, and increasing frequencies on the B and G lines to boost mobility options across the region

DENVER (March 31, 2026) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD)’s service changes will take effect on Sunday, June 7 and introduce new connections, increased bus and train frequencies, and improved schedules. Many of the adjustments will support customers during the next phase of the agency’s multi-year Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project starting June 7.

To fortify mobility options and enable customers to keep making connections during the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project, June’s service changes introduce a temporary T Line along the Southeast Corridor, reinstate the C Line to Denver Union Station, extend the R Line to RidgeGate Parkway Station, and increase train frequencies on the B and G lines.

Customers also will see improved services for 12 bus routes to enhance on-time performance and connections, resulting from $9.25 million funding from a Clean Transit Enterprise (CTE) grant program. The program stipulates that RTD use the funding in 2026 to increase frequencies, expand hours of service, or augment connections. The CTE grant is funded through oil and gas production fees, and it is annually available to transit agencies across the state.

RTD continually monitors its transit system and adjusts its schedule three times a year – typically in January, May or June, and either August or September. The transit system evaluation considers a variety of factors such as traffic patterns, economic conditions, and customer feedback. Ongoing system assessments are imperative for making informed decisions that maximize resources, enhance on-time and reliable services, and ensure that RTD continues to meet the needs of the region it serves.

General overview of June service changes

Rail services

Due to the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project these rail lines will be temporarily suspended:

  • D, H, and L lines

Other rail services undergoing changes or to be introduced:

  • The C Line will be temporarily reinstated to replace the D Line enabling continued customer travel from Denver Union Station to Mineral Station
  • The Temporary T Line will run every 15 minutes on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.; every 30 minutes between 6 p.m. and midnight, Sundays through Thursdays; and until 2 a.m. on Saturdays
  • The T Line will operate from Lincoln Station to I-25•Broadway Station, replacing some services currently offered between I-25 and Southmoor stations via the H Line, which will be suspended during the rail project
  • The R Line service frequency will increase to 15 minutes from 30 minutes 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends
  • The R Line will extend farther south from Lincoln Station providing customers with access to three additional stations – Sky Ridge, Lone Tree, and RidgeGate Parkway – to strengthen service availability for customers
  • G Line service frequencies will be restored to 15 minutes on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • B Line frequencies will be restored to 30 minutes – up from one-hour service – on weekdays 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.
  • E and W lines will undergo schedule adjustments to better align with trip connections and improve on-time performance for customers

Bus services

  • Routes that will experience changes include: 0, 0L, 7, 10, 11, 15, 15L, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 28, 36, 37, 38, 42, 43, 44, 45, 51, 53, 73, 80, 92, 104L, 112, 120, 204, 225, 228, 324, 520, ART, DASH, DTFX (Denver Tech Center FlexRide), FlexRide, FREE, GS, JUMP, LD3, NB, PLFX (Platte Valley FlexRide), and SKIP
  • Twelve bus routes experiencing service improvements include: 0L, 10, 16th Street FreeRide, 19, 21, 37, 43, 53, 80, 104L, ART, and 287
  • The 16th Street FreeRide will operate every three minutes from its prior four-and-a-half-minute frequency
  • Routes 0L and 43 will see midday service increases, operating every seven-and-a-half minutes
  • Route 104L will arrive five minutes earlier on weekends for better connections to the N Line and add a daily eastbound and westbound trip
  • Routes that will receive schedule updates include: 0, 0L, 7, 10, 11,15, 15L, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 28, 36, 37, 43, 44, 51, 92, 104L, 204, 225, 228A, 324, ART, DASH, FREE, GS, JUMP, LD3, NB1, NB2, and SKIP

Customers who use Access-a-Ride should be aware that any reductions or improvements to regular bus and rail routes may also impact paratransit service availability. RTD is committed to ensuring that paratransit services remain accessible and will communicate any changes that may affect these services.
