
RTD to temporarily suspend a portion of G Line service during emergency preparedness drill
DENVER (Sept. 10, 2025) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will conduct a joint emergency preparedness drill in coordination with local emergency services on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., along the G Line between Olde Town Arvada and Pecos Junction stations. .
The last complete eastbound train will depart Wheat Ridge-Ward Road Station at 9:21 a.m. and the last complete westbound train will depart Union Station at 9:31 a.m.
During the exercise, there will be no rail service on the G Line between Olde Town Arvada and Pecos Junction stations. Bus shuttles will provide service between these stations throughout the drill period. Customers should allow extra travel time and look for posted signage at stations.

Gate assignments for shuttle service are as follows:
- Olde Town Arvada Station: Gate A
- 60th & Sheridan-Arvada Gold Strike Station: Gate A
- Clear Creek-Federal Station: Gate C
- Pecos Junction Station: Gate A
Full rail service for the G Line will resume by 2 p.m. following completion of the drill exercise. Customers seeking alternative travel options during the drill are encouraged to check RTD’s Next Ride app before traveling and sign up for Service Alerts for specific route information.
Area residents and businesses near the impacted stations may see a noticeable presence of emergency vehicles and first responders during the exercise. The drill is part of RTD’s regular emergency preparedness efforts, designed to ensure customer safety and maintain effective coordination between RTD personnel and local emergency agencies.
