Transit Police greeted community at Fun Fest

RTD-PD officers participated in first responder event on Sept. 20 to build partnerships in communities where they serve

To directly interact with the community and work in partnership with other public safety agencies, RTD Transit Police (RTD-PD) officers participated in the First Responders Fun Fest over the weekend. Hosted by the Lone Tree Police Department at Park Meadows Mall, the event brought together local first responders and law enforcement to build relationships with those in the community they serve.

“We're proud to work alongside our partners to ensure the safety of our customers,” RTD-PD Commander Jon Holloway said. “Events like this are a great reminder that our shared commitment to public safety brings us all together.”

RTD-PD officers participated in Fun Fest to “strengthen our relationships in the community and show our dedication to creating a safe and welcoming transit environment. We believe that building trust and making genuine connections with the people we serve is key to making lives better,” Holloway added.

The event was held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. Other law enforcement agencies participated including:

  • Lone Tree Police Department
  • Parker Police Department
  • Castle Rock Police Department
  • South Metro Fire Rescue
  • Douglas County Sheriff
  • Colorado State Patrol
  • South Suburban Park Rangers

RTD’s 2,345-square-mile service area extends southeast to rail stations in Lone Tree including County Line, Lincoln, Sky Ridge, Lone Tree City Center and RidgeGate Parkway with a variety of bus routes in the surrounding areas of Highlands Ranch, Parker and Greenwood Village.
