March 2024: Robert Bright

Operator of the Month Q&A

How long have you driven for RTD? Have you always been a bus driver?

After my time serving in the US military, I started at RTD in 1994 and worked here for 10 years as a bus driver. Due to life circumstances, I left RTD for a time but returned in 2013. I have been back for exactly, 10 years, 5 months, 25 days. I have been a bus driver for a very long time and have worked at other agencies, I’ve been an operator instructor and 3rd party CDL examiner.

What were you in a previous life?

I was privileged to serve my country so in a previous life I was a US Army Soldier and combat veteran.

What do you like best about your job?

I love my customers, I feel so happy getting them to and from important locations safely! I like being dependable and it’s an honor that they have recognized me in return through RTD.

If you could listen to music while working, what type would you choose?

Classic Rock and Heavy Metal! I love Led Zeppelin!

If you could deck out your bus, what style would it be?

I would want an animal theme and to bring in dogs and cats to run around the bus.

If you could change your uniform color, what color would you prefer?

I would want to wear orange because is my favorite color, it’s good for safety reasons and it’s also the team color of my favorite basketball team.

What type of service would you drive if given the choice?

I like the express/regional routes and would want the route 120x or Flatiron Flyer.
