Calvin White - August 2026 Operator of the Month

August’s Operator of the Month is Calvin White from East Metro Division! White was chosen for his quick reaction to helping a customer who began experiencing a medical emergency. While on his route, he noticed the customer near the stop fall to the ground. He immediately called dispatch to request medical assistance, enabling emergency services to respond quickly and transport the customer to a nearby hospital. White’s rapid response upon witnessing this event is another testament to RTD operators' willingness to continue making lives better through connections.

Q&A with Calvin

How long have you driven for RTD, and have you always been a bus driver?

I just celebrated a year with the agency.

What were you in a previous life?

I was an over-the-road trucker for the past twenty years.

What do you like best about your job?

I love to drive and I love serving the public. It Is very rewarding.

If you could listen to music while working, what type?

I am a classical jazz guy.

If you could deck out your bus, what style?

I would bring an urban view to it.

If you could change your uniform color, what color?

I think that the grey look we had, button down, is a great professional choice.

What type of service would you drive if given the choice and/or favorite service to drive or operate?

I enjoy the AT and regional routes, I have nostalgia with the freeways. It's a different zone.
