Bus Operator Training Begins today on East Colfax
As the East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project prepares for Bus-Only Lane Operations (BOLO) from Broadway to Colorado this fall, training for more than 200 RTD bus operators begins next week. Training will occur daily between Grant Street and Williams Street until BOLO begins.
Bus operators will be training in the center, bus-only lanes to access the Pennsylvania, Downing and Franklin stations. The center, bus-only lanes will be closed to all other vehicles, including bicycles and scooters.
The buses will begin using transit signal priority (TSP), which provides better coordination with traffic signals and reduces idling time at intersections. For safety, all drivers along the corridor are only permitted to make left turns at signalized intersections when they have a green turn arrow. 15 and 15L Customers
15 and 15L customers will continue to board the bus at current stops on the outside lanes. Find your stop here.
Buses training in the center, bus-only lanes will be marked as “Instruction Bus.”
The center BRT stations will remain closed to the public while construction and testing activities continue.
Drivers
Drivers will travel in the outer lanes and are only permitted to make left turns at signalized intersections when they have the green turn arrow. Look for left turn arrows at westbound Washington Street, eastbound Clarkson Street, and both eastbound and westbound Lafayette Street in this section.
Pedestrians
Pedestrians should cross in the crosswalk at signalized intersections when the walk sign is on.
Cyclists
Cyclists should use crossings at neighborhood bikeways at Pearl Street, Washington Street, N. Clarkson Street, Downing Street or Franklin Street.

Usuarios de las rutas 15 y 15L

Conductores
