RTD conducts service testing for additional G Line frequencies in June

Pauline Haberman

May 29, 2026 In preparation for the return of G Line commuter rail service to 15-minute frequency as part of the upcoming June 7, 2026 service changes, RTD's Concessionaire partner, Denver Transit Operators will increase the number of test trains that will not be in service from one to three as soon as Friday, May 29. The out of service trains will operate in conjunction with the full schedule of trains operating in revenue service each day.

Since the testing began on April 20, customers may have noticed test trains that say, "Not in Service" stopping at stations along the G Line but not opening the train doors. The testing will continue with the additional “out of service” trains until the June service changes take place.

To better match demand and improve reliability during the busiest travel periods. G Line service frequencies will be restored on Sunday, June 7 to 15 minutes on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Customers are encouraged to visit Service Changes for a complete list of updates including seasonal adjustments and service reductions for select routes.
