RTD to operate A Line service at 30-minute frequency Sept. 29-Oct. 10 during repairs to York/Josephine crossing
The temporary schedule for repairs is not part of RTD’s September service changes
DENVER (Sept. 22, 2026) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will implement a temporary 30-minute service frequency on the A Line, seven days a week, to accommodate repairs by agency concessionaire operator Denver Transit Partners at the York/Josephine railroad crossing. The adjusted schedule begins with the noon departure from Denver Union Station on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and will remain in effect through Saturday, Oct. 10. The temporary schedule is not part of the agency’s final September service changes.
The A Line normally operates on a 15-minute schedule, but RTD will temporarily change that frequency to every 30 minutes as trains operate on a single track (Track 1 or Track 2) around the work zone. Regular, 15-minute service on the A Line is scheduled to resume Sunday, Oct. 11.
- Trains will depart Denver Union Station on the hour (:00) and half-hour (:30)
- Trains will depart Denver Airport Station at :27 and :57 minutes past the hour
Trains will pass workers and equipment on or near the tracks at the York/Josephine crossing. As a safety precaution, train horns will sound through the York/Josephine crossing for the entire service day Monday through Sunday.
Repairs are expected to provide a long-term fix that improves the way trains operate through this section of rail.
Bus shuttles will not be used during this extended service interruption to allow RTD customers to continue traveling between Union Station and Denver International Airport by rail, eliminating the need to alternate between rail and bus services. Trains will use a single track in some locations while construction at the York/Josephine crossing is underway.
During the initial work, customers will board A Line trains on Track 2 at 38th-Blake, 40th-Colorado and Central Park Stations. Later work may involve customer boarding on Track 1. Check station platform signs or visit RTD’s Service Alerts page for more information.
