These days, thanks to Generation Z, “peak” has a whole different meaning. It no longer just refers to the summit of a mountain, but now refers to something at it’s absolute best. And looking at this month’s lineup of outdoor concerts and festivals, it’s safe to say that July is peak.
From the return of “Punk In The Park” and debut of “Unhinged Fest” to the physics-defying acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil and smooth sounds of jazz at City Park, July is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy this month’s Rad Things (to) Do across the Denver metro area.

July 11-13: Colorado Black Arts Festival

Back for its 39th year, the Colorado Black Arts Festival is a three-day celebration of African American arts, culture and community. July 18-20, the National Western Center ditches the cowboy aesthetic for mohawks, plaid pants and denim vests as Punk In The Park returns for 2025! This three-day traveling punk and ska festival brings with it the world’s most prolific punk and ska acts, turning the National Western Center into one giant circle pit. Headlining the event this year are Streetlight Manifesto, The Aquabats, Descendents, Pennywise, Bad Religion and Dropkick Murphys.

Musicals, plays and live theatrical performances

Katy Perry - "The One That Got Away"
After a series of delays due to both the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche playoff games, Katy Perry FINALLY makes her long anticipated visit back to Denver as part of her "The Lifetimes Tour" at Ball Arena July 10.
Keith Urban - "The Fighter" featuring Carrie Underwood
Keith Urban has long been one of country's biggest names, and he brings his "High and Alive World Tour" to Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre July 17, bringing with him great country artists such as Chase Matthew, Alana Springsteen and Karley Scott Collins.
Killswitch Engage - "My Curse"
If there was ever a Mount Rushmore of metalcore, Killswitch Engage would be on it. Pioneers of the genre in the early-2000s, Killswitch Engage has captivated millions of fans with heavy screams, booming clean vocals, face-melting riffs and some of the most iconic choruses in the genre. They'll be co-headlining the Summer of Loud tour with Parkway Drive July 9 at The JunkYard.
Heart Attack Man - "Joyride The Pale Horse"
Punk rock proteges Heart Attack Man might just be singlehandedly saving punk rock. The three-piece band from Cleveland is not afraid to be loud, brash and in-your-face, and their latest album, "Joyride The Pale Horse," proves it. Catch them at the Marquis Theatre July 21.
The Word Alive - "One Of Us" featuring Noah Sebastien of Bad Omens
First bursting into the screamo/post-hardcore scene of the mid-2000s, The Word Alive has been melting faces off across the globe for decades. Now, fresh off the release of their new hit single, "Eyes Above," the band will be taking the stage at Marquis July 31 with TX2 and Unwell.
