
RTD provides service and connections Sunday to Broncos vs. Chargers game
DENVER (Jan. 2, 2026) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD) expects an increase in ridership as the Broncos host the Los Angeles Chargers at 2:25 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, at Empower Field at Mile High. The stadium’s close proximity to several bus stops and rail stations makes public transit a safe and convenient way for football fans to attend the game.
Broncos fans are encouraged to use the agency’s Next Ride trip planning tool and simply type “Broncos” in the destination field. RTD’s trip planner will then show all train line and bus route options from a customer’s current location to Empower Field, along with departure times from the user’s current location.
Rail Service
Before and after the game, RTD will offer service on the E and W lines, which directly serve Empower Field at Mile High Station, as well as A, B, G, and N lines, which provide service to Denver Union Station.
All rail service to Denver Union Station allows customers to make a simple transfer to the E and W lines.
Light Rail Service Note
• With January service changes taking effect on Sunday, the D and H lines will return to their regular routing through downtown Denver
• D and H line customers may reach Empower Field by exiting at Colfax at Auraria Station and walking to the stadium (approximately 20 minutes) or by transferring to the E Line at I-25•Broadway Station and riding to the Empower Field at Mile High Station
Customers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time, and be patient due to large crowds, especially following the game.
Bus Service
Several local bus routes are available to accommodate customers attending the football game. Bus routes operating in the vicinity of Empower Field at Mile High include Route 30 (South Federal Boulevard) and Route 31 (North Federal Boulevard), as well as Routes 1, 15L, and 16.
Customers looking for an easy transfer to the D, E, or W lines at Denver Union Station can use the Flatiron Flyer and local Routes 0, 9, 10, 15, 20, and 32.
Parking
RTD’s Park-n-Rides provide easy and convenient access to reach the game by public transit. A full list of Park-n-Rides across the metro area is available online.

• Skip the line at ticket vending machines – download the RTD MyRide App and purchase a Day Pass online or use RTD’s new Tap-n-Ride contactless payment. Simply tap a Visa or Mastercard credit, debit, prepaid card, or mobile wallet directly on a validator to pay your fare and ride.
• Auraria West Station will be closed at 12:25 p.m. to account for the large increase in crowds. Please use the nearby Empower Field at Mile High Station. Auraria West Station will reopen at approximately 7 p.m.
