CHANGES ARE COMING!

RTD's new MyRide fare payment system provides customers with more convenience and greater flexibility than ever before, and introduces a variety of new features and benefits.

WHAT IS RTD MYRIDE?

RTD MyRide is RTD's new account-based fare payment system. The system includes an updated mobile app and customer web portal, a new MyRide card, new validators on buses and rail platforms, improved security, and features like fare capping to ensure customers always get the most value.

WHEN WILL THE NEW SYSTEM LAUNCH?

Customers will begin to use the new system in September 2022. RTD will be transitioning to the new MyRide system in August during the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative, when RTD will not collect fares.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN EXISTING MYRIDE CARD?

During the month of August when RTD is not charging fares, RTD will work with customers to migrate existing MyRide card balances to new RTD MyRide accounts. Use the above links to register your existing MyRide card (if it isn't already), create a new RTD MyRide account, and transfer the balance of your existing MyRide card to your new RTD MyRide account!

WHAT IF I CURRENTLY USE THE RTD MOBILE TICKETS APP?

When available, simply update the app to experience all the benefits of RTD MyRide!

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

To experience all the benefits of RTD MyRide, download the RTD Mobile Tickets app (soon to be RTD MyRide) and create an account. Beginning July 31, you can request to transfer the balance on existing MyRide card(s) to a new RTD MyRide account via an online tool that will be available on this page.

DO I NEED A MOBILE DEVICE TO MANAGE MY NEW RTD MYRIDE ACCOUNT?

No, you can also manage your new account via a new RTD MyRide web portal, coming soon.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE EXISTING MYRIDE DISCOUNT?

The existing MyRide discount will not be available via the new MyRide card but will continue to be available by purchasing physical or mobile 10-Ride Ticket Books. More details are coming soon, and customers with registered MyRide cards will receive direct communications from RTD on how to transfer their balance and details on the new features and options they have on RTD MyRide!

WHAT IS FARE CAPPING?

Fare capping ensures you never pay more than you should on RTD. When you use your MyRide mobile barcode or new MyRide card, 3-Hour Passes will automatically convert to Day and Monthly Passes. Taking a trip to a higher fare zone later in the day? You'll only pay the difference! Fare capping also applies to individual tokens, so an account holder using their MyRide barcode will accumulate trips separately than those using cards connected to the same account. This way, everyone benefits!

WHY IS RTD CHANGING ITS FARE PAYMENT SYSTEM?

This change is part of RTD’s Fare Modernization Project which began in 2016 with the goal of replacing RTD’s card-based system with a cloud-based system. The new system is a technological leap forward for customers and the agency, and provides an upgrade path for integrating additional payment options in the future.
