Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities

RTD established the Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities (ACPD) in August 2017 to work in concert with an internal ADA Steering Committee to advance the agency's efforts to serve customers with disabilities. The ACPD facilitates communication between RTD staff and the community of people with disabilities, provides advice on RTD programs, policies, and activities, and works to complete the goals outlined by the annual ACPD work plan. The ACPD is overseen by the ADA Manager, who serves as the staff liaison on the ACPD and the Chair of the ADA Steering Committee.

Meetings:

The ACPD hold four quarterly meetings each year, and two meetings with RTD's Access-a-Ride Paratransit Advisory Committee (APAC). The meeting dates are determined in collaboration with the Chair, Vice Chair and the RTD Staff Liaison.

Members of the public are welcome to provide their comments at the start of ACPD meetings. If you are interested in providing public comment at the next ACPD meeting please email [email protected] and provide your name, your email address, and a brief statement about your comment.

The ACPD holds two joint meetings with the members of the Access-a-Ride Paratransit Advisory Committee (APAC) throughout the year. These meetings alternate in facilitation between the ACPD and the APAC. It is the consensus of the APAC and ACPD that holding joint meetings twice a year enables an organic sharing of ideas and experiences. The ADA Steering Committee holds four meetings each year. These meetings are held either the same month or the month following the ACPD meeting. These meetings are opportunities for Steering Committee members to address topics discussed in the ACPD meeting, craft elements of the annual work plan, and focus on efforts RTD can take to improve its service for people with disabilities.
