Devan Mohr joined RTD Transit Police in May of 2025 as a Patrol Commander. His law enforcement career prior to coming to RTD began in 1995 with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and continued with the Lakewood Police Department in 2010 after he and his family relocated to Colorado. Devan’s career has enabled him to gain considerable law enforcement experience, both from the line level perspective and in leadership roles. He has served across a wide span of assignments within patrol, investigations and administration. His patrol experience includes serving as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Sergeant and Commander. He was a Field Training Sergeant, and he supervised the K9 team as a Commander.

During his time as a detective, Devan worked complex, covert and overt investigations. His tenure as an investigator includes having served as a detective in multiple assignments such as the special victim’s unit, special investigations unit and as a task force officer on an FBI task force. As a Detective Sergeant, he supervised vice and intelligence investigations/operations, sex offender apprehension/registration investigations and multiple task force officers with ATF and MGTF. Additionally, he was also responsible for organizing and supervising numerous operations involving members of his agency as well as state, local and federal partners from outside agencies.

Among the variety of duties he carried out as a Commander in the patrol division, Devan had the opportunity to lead as the Incident Commander at several critical incidents, manage staffing and deployment for day-to-day operations, provide training and mentoring and navigate personnel issues. He used the invaluable experience gained through his time as a Patrol Commander to transition into the role of Professional Standards Commander.In that assignment, Devan supervised internal affairs, training, recruiting and hiring, grant management, accreditation and budgeting. He administered the firearms training program and was also the human resources liaison representing the police department in personnel matters.

In addition to his primary assignments, Devan served his respective agencies by taking on secondary duties as a defensive tactics instructor, firearms instructor, use of force instructor, peer support member and supervisor, assistant PIO and board member of the police employees assistance foundation.

Devan is a former Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps who has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with interdisciplinary blocks in Spanish and Forensic Science, he is also in the process of completing a Master of Arts degree in Executive Leadership. One historical yet simple quote which reflects Devan’s view on life and leadership is, “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”
