The intersection at Champa and 16th streets will temporarily close starting as soon as Tuesday, Sept. 5, and will remain closed for approximately nine weeks. The RTD Free MallRide continues to run during the 16th Street Mall Project, rerouted to 15th and 17th streets until the project is complete.

24 August 2023Snow(plow) skills: 2023 Snowplow Roadeo champions crowned
Last Friday, 12 teams of RTD snowplow operators took to the pavement of District Shops to compete in the annual RTD Snowplow Roadeo. After a thrilling day of competition, champions were crowned and a team has been chosen to represent the agency at the APWA National Snow & Ice Show and National Snow Roadeo in September.

On Sept. 3, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) will implement routine service changes to select local, regional and FlexRide bus routes, as well as reinstating the Route GS between Federal Center and Downtown Boulder stations.

A portion of RTD's A Line trains will be single-tracked between 38th•Blake and Central Park stations beginning at 8 p.m. on Aug. 22 and continuing through the end of service on Aug. 23 to accommodate concrete repairs at 40th•Colorado Station. 16 August 2023RTD to extend temporary alternative parking during third party work at I-25•Broadway Station
RTD will continue to offer temporary parking access for I-25•Broadway Station customers through Tuesday, Aug. 22 while the city of Denver performs necessary sanitary sewer work in the north RTD parking. The work will not affect the south parking lot.

Bus operator John Saenz used his best judgment last month during an afternoon storm, when a dog frightened by the thunder headed straight for his bus. He successfully brought the animal back to its owner after a two-hour ride.
11 August 2023Champions crowned at the 2023 Light Rail Rodeo
On Saturday, Aug. 5, RTD’s finest light rail operators and mechanics put their skills to the test in the 2023 RTD Light Rail Rodeo. The event returned after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and kicked off the annual ro(a)deo season for the agency. For some operators and mechanics, it was a welcome return to normalcy.
